The show revolves around a drug called OxyContin, which makes people addicted to it, also called Opioid addiction. The show portrays the country’s struggle against this addiction. Purdue Pharma sells this drug as painkillers, which the Sackler family owns.
They make false promises to the public, telling them that it won’t harm them and is not addictive at all, but that is all lies, and the truth is a lot of people start getting addicted to the drug, and soon there are long lines to buy that drug.
Pharmaceutical Reps trick the public into thinking that this is some sort of miracle medicine. However, the reality is different, as many people get addicted to the medicine and suffer side effects.
The Sackler family makes the drug and sells it effectively, and it can fool people. You also see how pharmaceutical reps are involved in further encouraging doctors to prescribe it to their patients, and we see the patients as they slowly all get addicted to the drug, and the sales for the drug skyrocket.
Finally, you will witness how the lawyers are involved in the investigation regarding the drug-harming people.
Is there a Dopesick Season 2 Trailer out?

In this trailer, we see the Sackler Family creating the drug and telling people that less than 1% of people get addicted. This becomes their selling point and how they attract people to make this a billion-dollar drug.
