86 is a mecha and military science fiction anime series with numerous romance aspects. The popular light book of the same name by Asato Asato inspired the anime, which debuted in 2021. Toshimasa Ishii directed the anime, and A-1 Pictures created the adaptation.

The anime depicts the conflict between the two fictional nations, the Republic of San Magnolia and the Giadian Empire. Using automated drones, they fight their wars against each other.

The anime aired on many local networks from April 11, 2021, through June 20, 2021. On June 27, with a special episode, it made its final appearance for the first season. Crunchyroll has also licensed it, and as a result, it has acquired viewers worldwide. Fans of the anime are already anticipating a second season.

After years of the Giadian Empire’s drones dominating the battlefield, the Republic of San Magnolia has finally been able to develop its own unmanned automated drones via slow and thorough study. The republican administration asserts that the conflict is now a non-violent confrontation between militaries of drones and robots and an evolved society.

But, government propaganda seeks to hide the depressing reality of the autonomous units. Alba’s discriminatory administration long persecuted the Colorata minority in the Republic of San Magnolia.

86 Season 2 Storyline

They are known as the 86s, allegedly made to control the drones in a horrible conflict with the Giadian Empire. But, after learning of their tyranny, Major Vladilena “Lena” Mirizé, who is in charge of an elite force of 86 veterans, feels compassion for them.

Lena’s discontent with the Republic’s magnificence comes rapidly, and her life alters significantly due to years of misinformation. Lena will, unfortunately, have a hard time winning the Colorata minority’s support because she is an Alban.

Furthermore, Lena won’t be able to halt the racist Alba government’s oppression even if she succeeds in winning the victims’ hearts.

86 Renewal Status

The anime studio or production staff has renewed the anime. The show creators have given the greenlit to the season 2 of 86. Primevideo has also announced that show will air in October.
