Dexter Season 9 Release Date: What We Know So Far?

Dexter Morgan has returned and seeks fresh talent ten years after sailing into the storm. The “Dexter” reboot was formally approved by Showtime in October 2020, with the debut date set for November 7, 2021.

Michael C. Hall is back as the delightfully nerdy Bay Harbor Butcher, a.k.a. the mass murderer who focuses his lust for blood on killing other serial murderers and lives in Miami, Florida.

In addition, Clyde Phillips, the original showrunner, is returning as an executive producer of the new episodes. Everything you need to know about “Dexter: New Blood” Season 9, including the crew and trailer, is provided here.

Dexter Season 9 Release Date

15 years ago, Dexter made its Showtime debut. It continued through eight seasons before coming to an intriguing conclusion in 2013. Hall, the original producer Clyde Phillips, and executive producer/director Macros Siega are teaming up again in 2021 for the upcoming New Blood series.

The newest episode, Dexter: New Blood, is usually called the ninth season of Dexter. However, Phillips wants fans to understand that it’s more of a series or reboot than a Season 9.

  • Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan / Jim Lindsay.
  • Jack Alcott as Harrison Morgan.
  • Julia Jones as Police Chief Angela Bishop.
  • Johnny Sequoyah as Audrey Bishop.
  • Alano Miller as Sergeant Logan.
  • Jennifer Carpenter as Debra Morgan.
  • Clancy Brown as Kurt Caldwell.

Dexter Season 9 Storyline

Dexter Season 9 Storyline

The Season 8 finale of the original show left things in Dexter’s universe in a rather precarious position, as devoted viewers may recall. The final episode, called Remember the Monsters, ended with Dexter shooting his sister Deb, who later suffered a deadly stroke due to Dexter’s error, and Dexter appeared to commit himself.

The last few seconds of the Season 8 finale revealed that Dexter’s son Harrison and his sometimes-girlfriend and murderous partner Hannah had fled to Buenos Aires, where they learned of Dexter’s passing.

The audience can clearly understand that Dexter staged his suicide and left his child to save them. Hence, he is not dead. Now that Hannah is raising Harrison abroad, he has adopted a new identity and a new way of life managing for a lumber firm in Oregon.

Dexter Season 9 Trailer

In July 2021, fans were given access to the first sneak peek trailer for New Blood. In the trailer, Dexter Morgan appears to discuss how he “ran away” to flee his troubles with a therapist.

Dexter narrates the trailer while working in what seems to be a knife-and-gun shop in a small, isolated town. He describes how he fakes his existence and suppresses his murderous impulses.
