MONICA POTTER (Carin) has quickly become one of the most intriguing young actors in Hollywood. Most recently Potter can be seen starring opposite Billy Crudup in the Robert Towne film, Without Limits, which traces the career of the legendary runner Steve Prefontaine. Potter portrayed the real-life character Mary Marckx, Prefontaines girlfriend who saw a side of him that not many people knew. When the filmmakers first saw Potter, they were dazzled by her beauty and vulnerability and felt she had the right combination of naiveté and strength to embody the character. The film was produced by Tom Cruise and Paula Wagner.
In the Spring of 1999, Potter will be seen starring in the charming Miramax film Martha Meet Frank, Daniel and Laurence, which promises to be the breakthrough role for her. Directed by Nick Hamm (Dancing Queen), the story revolves around a young woman from Minnesota who decides to leave her mundane life and move to London where she meets Frank, Daniel and Laurence. She falls in love with Laurence, only to discover that all three men have fallen in love with her.
Potter made her first appearance in a major feature film last year when she was seen starring opposite Nicolas Cage as his gentle wife in Con Air.
Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Potter got her start in acting at the age of twelve when she began modeling and doing commercials. Potter relocated to Los Angeles in 1994 to seriously pursue her acting career.
